Spring Fair

There’s 62 days until the Fremont County Fair kicks off August 1! Spring Fair is just around the corner! Entries are due today at 5 p.m.! You can enter online at https://fremontjsf.fairmanager.com/

Tomorrow is the last day to purchase discount all day carnival tickets. Until June 1 at 4 p.m., tickets are $22. After 4 p.m. June 1 all day tickets go up to $30. Here’s a look at the carnival schedule for Spring Fair:

June 1: 5p.m.-10p.m.

June 2: 5p.m.-10p.m.

June 3: 5p.m.-11p.m.

June 4: 2p.m.-11p.m.

June 5: 2p.m.-6p.m.

Wiener Dog Races

There’s officially 70 days until the Fremont County Fair kicks off August 1! Spring Fair is just around the corner! Only 8 days away!

Who has the fastest Wiener Dog in Fremont County?! Here is your chance to find out!

The Fremont County Fair will have Wiener Dog Races this year on Saturday August 6 at 3 p.m. on the Show Lawn.

Ribbons will be given for winners in each heat, prizes will be awarded for Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion. Prizes will also be awarded for the Best Dressed Wiener Dog!

Rules for this new and exciting event are:

1)   Each dog will run in one preliminary heat. The winner of each heat will compete in the Championship race.

2)   The distance for the will be approximately 50 yards. The is approximate and may vary at the discretion of the racing officials.

3)   The number of heats and dogs in each heat will depend on the number of entries, with a maximum of eight dogs per heat.

4)   Two handlers are required per dog: One handler remains with the dog behind the starting line, the other handler will stand behind the finish line to call the dog and collect him/her after the race. At least one handler must be 18 years of age or older. For the safety of the dogs, handlers are not permitted to leave their designated places while the dogs are competing.

5)   We will not be using a starting gate. Owners will stand at the starting line and hold their dog. Once the dogs are settled behind the starting line, the announcer will state, “Ready. Set. Go.” And the handlers will release the dog. Please allow your dog to run freely from the starting line to the finish line of his/her own accord. Any handler releasing their dog before “Go” will be disqualified at the discretion of the racing officials.

6)   Once the dog has been released, the finish line handler can attract the dogs’ attention to the finish line; snacks, squeaky toys, etc, may be used to coax your dog. No loud noises, other live animals or anything deemed to be disruptive to other dogs will be permitted.

·        In order to be declared the winner all 4 paws must cross the finish line.

·        The Championship Heat will consist of the 1st and 2^nd place winners of all the previous heats and a possible “wild Card” spots.

·         All dogs must have current shots and provide a copy of shot record as well as a health statement from their veterinarian stating that they meet all health requirements to race.

·        Dogs Must be kept on leashes at all times while on the Fairgrounds property (the only exception being when the dog is racing). Dogs must be removed from the fairgrounds following the race.

·         Please bring a potty pick up method to maintain a clean racing environment.

Entry forms for the Wiener dog Races are due July 25 by 5 p.m. to the Fair Office. 

So dress up those fast dogs and come to the Fremont County Fair Saturday, August 6, 2016!
